When receiving a notification from Portal that an event has occurred on your stream, you can easily verify if this event is service-affecting by looking at the status image in the notifiable email. The notifiables received differ based on the streaming plan you are on, this article will look at Premium Feeds and Audio Feeds.

Audio Statuses Explained

Encoder Status: This is a check to see if the encoder is connected to our services.

Stream Status: The ability for our services to receive and distribute your stream.

Encoder Audio Status: This check allows us to see if audio is being received from the connected encoder.

Audio Status: This status message indicates whether audio is being played out on your stream.

Premium Feeds

The following information applies to both A-feeds and B-feeds.

Alerts for B-feeds are only service-affecting if the primary A-feeds contribution and fallback layers are down.

Encoder Disconnection:

The image above shows a disconnection of the encoder to our services. As the audio status is green, a fallback solution is playing out on the stream.

Encoder Silence

The image above shows that the encoder is not sending audio to our services. As the audio status is green, a fallback solution is playing out on the stream.

Audio Feeds

The following information applies to both A-feeds and B-feeds.

Alerts for B-feeds are only service-affecting if the primary A-feeds contribution and fallback layers are down.

Encoder Disconnection

In the image above, we can see that the encoder is not being detected as connected to our services. Thus, the audio status is red, meaning that no audio is being played out on the stream.

Encoder Silence

In the image above, we can see that there is no sound being received from the encoder contribution.
