Our new Timbre Player is an embeddable audio player that can deliver your Timbre content, accompanied by your artwork and customisable themes you can tailor to your organisation’s branding.

This article dives into how to find the player and how to customise its appearance.

The Player

The player can display a singular item or multiple items contained in a feed as a list:

You can view the appearance of the player for the selected item, a direct link for the player and the embed code for the player so you can put it on your site or blog.

You can view the appearance of the player for the selected item, a direct link for the player and the embed code for the player so you can put it on your site or blog. Customising the player

    Themes

You can change the look of the player by adding a new theme, this allows you to customize the player colours and add/remove download and sharing features. You can save multiple themes to your account.

On the preview window, click “+ add theme” this will take you to the “Embed Themes” settings.

To add a theme, select “Customize”. Here you can choose to add/remove the following options:

  • Artwork (if deselected, square view will show the block background colour)

  • Description

  • Download button

• Sharing options

  • Waveform (if selected, the navigation bar will display a waveform of the audio file)

  • Chapters

You can also select a border radius, a value of 0px means the player corners will be square and the higher the number, the more round the corners (20px maximum).

    Colours

Here you can customise the colour scheme. To add your own colours, uncheck “default” for each player element and select a colour using the colour picker.

    Player Colour Elements:

(In square view, background colour modifies the vignette colour that surrounds the artwork.)

To view the changes, click “Update Preview”.

If you’re happy with your new theme click “Save as Theme”. You’ll get the option to add a name and description so you can recall the theme later when choosing themes for your feed/item players.
