Summary

The Summary section in Analytics provides a printable PDF containing key information for your podcast or episode. The default date range is set to All Time, and a few quick search options make it easy to change the data to the time frame that suits you best.

Timbre Analytics is built on an IAB-compatible framework, meaning it conforms to industry standards and is trusted in the audio streaming and advertising world.

The Basics

In order to meet the requirements of the IAB framework, filters have been applied to some data in order to differentiate between "valid" plays (i.e. accessed by a human) and "invalid" plays (i.e. potentially accessed by bots). Basic terms are explained below and where any filtering has been applied has been indicated.

Plays

The number of times a podcast or episode has been accessed (to listen to or to download). This is limited to sessions that have lasted at least 60 seconds.

Unique Reach

The number of unique listeners that have accessed a podcast or episode based on that listener's IP address - no filter is applied to this data.

Listen Through Rate

This is the average percentage that an episode has been listened to based on the total duration of the episode. A higher LTR percentage indicates that, on average, more listeners consume more of the episode, i.e listen for longer than compared to a lower percentage which indicates a lower number of listeners consumed the entire episode.

Standalone

Refers to an episode that has been listened to separately from a podcast platform. An example would be when an episode is directly embedded into a website.

Any of these columns can be toggled on or off and the columns can be ordered by Plays, Listen Through Rate, or Unique Reach. Where Granularity has been applied, each grouped table also indicates the headline information based on the grouping (i.e. headline information for the year 2020).
