Converter

Converter allows you to change the bitrate and codec of the audio file, as well as change the gain level.

Bitrate Conversion

If you need to reduce the bitrate of your file you can use the bitrate converter to reduce it to a minimum of 96kbps.

You then have the option of creating a new file with the selected settings or overwriting the current file with the selected settings with the “Create New File” checkbox.

Click “Reduce Bit Rate” to apply the change.

File Type Conversion

If you wish to switch the file type from MP3 to M4A or vice versa. We generally recommend using MP3 as it is more universally accepted by devices, third-party players and browsers.

You then have the option of creating a new file with the selected setting or overwriting the current file with the selected setting by toggling the “Create New File” checkbox

Click “Convert File” to apply the change.

Gain Conversion

If your audio file is sounding too loud or quiet, you can edit the gain using our gain converter. You can check the dB level of the file first by clicking Generate Volume Data. This will calculate the peak and average (mean) audio level of the file.

If you wish to edit the gain, select the amount of gain you wish to add/remove and generate a preview. If you are happy with the new level you then have the option of creating a new file with the selected setting or overwriting the current file with the selected setting by toggling the “Create New File” checkbox.

Click “Modify Gain” to apply the change.

Increasing gain levels over 0dB could result in audible distortion. Reducing gain on already-distorted tracks will not remove audible distortion.
